easy one this , when i press the enter key in word 2007 beta it leaves a big gap between the ne line as if i had pressed two enters, does anyone know how to turn this off?

Thanks

it seems to be a default "feature" of the new word. and is a PITA. and i don't believe it's the line spacing either. am sure there would be some way to at least minimise the effects, however right now i have no idea what it is.

When this happens for me, instead of pressing Enter once, I hold SHIFT, then press Enter while holding SHIFT and this should do 1 space line :)

right click on the "normal" style in the toolbar, click modify, then format and change the paragraph setting. also check the box that says "use this for all new documents"

You NEWBS!

LMAO!

The big chunky icons at the top of the page (in normal view). Click (as has been said above) the middle paragraph icon labelled NO Spacing and this resolves the issue nicely.

maybe so, but I personally prefer to have it as default each time I start word, not have to remember to click extra things. it also pays not to be rude on these forums.

I called you Newbs? Have people been upset for less?

Sorry, it was meant tongue in cheek. Admitedlly I spent a fair while trying to work out that one for my self
