This looks interesting - it's selling well on Steam, presumably as there's a pre-launch 10% discount. I've picked it up, can always get a discount.

Appears to a retro-style rogue-like shooter with crazy guns and co-op mode.

Been looking forward to this for ages. It looks like a mash-up between Binding of Isaac and Nuclear Throne. It's essentially a rogue-lite, each run is randomised where you get different guns, passives and actives, some runs you'll be completely broken, other runs you'll be so weak you'll cry yourself to sleep. It has persistent unlocks and lots of secrets to unlock too. If you find Nuclear Throne too hard this is slightly easier on the difficulty scale, but it's still a very hard game, then again it does vary massively on the items you unlock, but obviously you have to be prepared to dodgeroll a LOT.

played it for a couple hours and couldnt really get into it. it's a charming little 2D shooter if thats your thing but I wouldnt recommend it.

fantastic game. i've spent about 2 days on it already. some of the guns are excellent. the earthworm jim gun being one of my faves

Haven't even been past the 2nd floor yet.

it felt too repetitive for me. dont get me wrong, i was on the edge of my seat for the entire time but it quickly got old for me.

Most runs I am saving my keys to gain access to the secret floor that can be accessed from Floor 1.

So probably making things harder on myself doing this.

Good little game to have a quick blast on when you've got an hour to kill. These bullet hell games aren't half stressful at times though...

Absurd difficulty? Do you mean too easy? At least compared to the likes of Nuclear Throne.
