Looking for a blog host that I can later embed into a webpage once I've got it up and running...

Just get a host (vidahost or tsohost) and install wordpress.

What do you mean by 'embed into a webpage'? Are you looking for something that you can incorporate in to something else, or just something that you can transfer to your own host at a later date?
