Hello everyone. Looking for a bit of advice here. All my kit is Apple, I love the ecosystem and how everything just seems to work however the one thing I'm missing is the Apple Watch . I dont have a lot of spare cash at the moment as I have just bought a new car and I'm doing work to my house, but I would like to dip my toe and see if its something that I would get a lot of use out of.

With that in mind Im happy to go second hand initially and buy new later if I get the use out of it. What is the earliest model I can get away with getting that would still be properly functional? How much (or probably how little) would I expect to spend?

Thanks in advance.

I‘d say an S4 but an s3 should be okay as well.

I’ve recently upgraded from an S3 > ultra and the difference is night and day. I traded the s3 into apple - or recycled it. I didn’t actually want anything for it anything would have been a bonus but at first the girl was like we don’t accept these anymore. So you should be able to get it really cheap and it’ll be perfectly fine to get to grips with it and then re access further down the line when you have a bit more cash.

I traded in my S4 for £40, not much difference to S8 except I have a new battery.

Thanks! Can I also ask where the SE fits into the equation? Is it comparable to any of the other models?
  • Series 3: S3 processor, W2 wireless chip, Bluetooth 4.2, altimeter
  • Watch SE: S5 processor, W2 wireless chip, Bluetooth 5.0, fall detection, compass, always-on altimeter
  • Series 6: S6 processor, W3 wireless chip, Bluetooth 5.0, U1 chip, electrical heart sensor, blood oxygen sensor, fall detection, compass, always-on altimeter
  • Series 7: S7 processor, W3 wireless chip, Bluetooth 5.0, U1 chip, electrical heart sensor, blood oxygen sensor, fall detection, compass, always-on altimeter
  • SE2 : S8 processor, W3 wireless chip, Bluetooth 5.0
SE1/5 basically the same.

Yeh, they'll accept them for cash if it's still not classed as an obsolete product.

If i was going for a cheaper AW. I would look at CEX.

Warranty, tested and all variations and you could get a grade A, so its fully boxed and in super condition.
