To be fair hard drives barely use any power anyway, desktop hard drives use around 8W, laptops around 1W and ssds around .5W. With superfetch you can use a laptop with the hdd powered down most of the time.

obviously at the moment they are not as good as they can be, but thats quite a damn difference, .5w compared to 8w..! obviously 8w isnt much, but if you had lots and lots of 8w drives.. and replaced them with .5w drives.. otherwise.. not really that great yet.
