after waiting over 2 hours for it to download I was very disapointed with this much talked about mod, it was realeased on friday, the mod looks unfinshed, unpolished, and rushed generally rather crap. the loading screens, maps and weapon sounds are ok. the player graphics textures are quite dodgy to say the least. Me along with a few other people I played with are getting pretty bad lag in game jumping around and a few disconnects. + the veridying client data seems to take areound 5 mins. In vanilla BF2 it takes like 1 or 2 still a bit slow for my liking :p .. anyone else got this mod and what are your views on it?

I've just had a quick bash at it (sheesh, 1.2GB download!) and to be honest I think it's pretty good, it's a lot better than the DCon mod (are you kidding me with that!). Verfiying took awhile (< 5 mins though), but to be honest it's always been slow in BF2 and it's been awhile since I played. As far as lag does, saw none on the server I was on, actually is was a nice server. Can't remember the name, think it was German and they a few had [DDD] has clan tags.

From the quick round I had, I'd give it 7/10. (2/10 for DCon). :D

I like it. Needs a lot of work though for me to play it regularly.

Firstly I don't like the fact that any flag can be captured. I think project reality have the right idea of having to capture specific flags in a certain order. What they have atm just results in troops scattered all over the shot. I like the idea of there being a 'front-line' so to speak. Secondly the nade spam ( ). Maybe I've had it too good with project reality but this really annoys me. Considering a lot of the game is in a jungle environment, it just results in nades being spammed in the general direction of gun-fire. Very lame.

In all fairness my problems with this mod arise from the fact I just like how the PR team have done things.

When these problems didn't arise, I had an awesome time playing it. Camping out near an objective, laying down surpressive fire on advancing troops is just the dogs ******** in a jungle environment. I hope they put some effort into this.

Digital - DC isn't too bad. Some of the toys in that game are sweet. No doubt needs some work though.

Any of you lads recommend a good BF2 mod?
