Eos 400D - any firm UK release date?

Been scouting around and cant get a firm date. Anyone 'in the know' care to help/guess?

Does the Sony use solely the Sony lenses or can you still use the old Konica/Minolta ones?

Description says Sony & Minolta fit so you should be able to mount old Minolta lenses.

I *think* that they have carried over the idea of building IS into the camera body effectively making any lens fitted an IS lens, but you'd have to check on that

It's remarkably similar to the Dynax 5D, looks like Sony have just slapped a different plastic case on it.

A bit on the pricey side though, £630 body only :eek:

(Admittedly can be found for less elsewhere for £465)

At that the Alpha would definately get a look for a first DSLR

Well sample pictures are now appearing and comparisons being drawn between the 350d and 400d and from what I can tell the 400d is a rather big disappointment, producing darker and more noisy images than its predecessor at higher ISO settings.

Think I shall wait until 350d prices drop a little and grab one of those.
