EP43-DS3 And E2160 Problems

I built the system about 10 days ago, upgraded the bios to F8 and exptected to reach 3g without any problems, as my old P35C DS3R reached that with 10 x 300 and all volts on Auto, remaining stable for nearly a year, before the mobo was RMA'd.

I'm having major troubles getting computer to boot, I can normally get into bios and get a red warning message, stating that there were overclocking problems, so I get rid of that, start again and sometimes it'll go into Windows, but normally it goes into a loop, gets to the main splash screen, then restarts. Even when I press delete on the splash screen, it often restarts again, without going into bios.

I have the cpu at 9 x 300, EIST disabled, vcore at 1.3250 and my 4 x 1g PC6400 Ballistix at 1.9v.

I've AS5 and Freezer Pro 7, will more time help with the AS5?

I've been out of the overclocking loop for a year and forgot anything that I did really know, so any advice would be appreciated.

I'll give that a bash when I restart, which won't be until tomorrow, as it's up and running at the moment and don't want the hassle at the moment.

Cheers mate.

What's the Memory Multiplier set to?

It's probably still running under spec, and thus 2v *should* be enough for it. Have you tried removing a couple of sticks of memory to see if it fares any better?

Sorry, it's set at 2.66c, so 800, which is stock and I've tried a few variations of the sticks, especially as I have two older pairs and two recent RMA replacements, no difference.

I've managed to get it up at 2.7 again, but know that as soon as I restart, the troubles will crop up again.

Sorry about all this grief mate and thanks for your patience.:)

I decided to be really thorough this time and tried all combinations of memory and found that the first memory slot near the cpu was causing all the problems.

I put in three sticks in the other slots and went straight into 3g, no problems at all, one stick in the dodgy slot and all the problems were there, looks like RMA time then.

Typical, the problem has arisen again, even after I reseated the cpu/hsf, is this a bad overclocking board?
