epic crash

So last couple of days I've had game crashes to desktop, I put it down to a recent game patch that others have reported issues with.

Just now however it's crashed proper and won't reboot, I've had an IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL stop fault, now when I try to boot I get the repair Windows option or start normally, neither of which work.

Any ideas?

Ok just swapped the RAM out and it's booted.

I did get back in briefly with the old RAM after disabling the XMP but it crashed again as soon as I opened chrome.

Is it likely it's just duff RAM or has the XMP likely to have caused it?

Too late I've swapped it now, I'm not faffing around checking it, it's obviously that that is duff as everything is fine now.

S'pose I'll have to RMA it.

I wonder if it's been on its way out for a week or more. I had notice an increase of about 10c GPU temp in a certain game and couldn't understand why, I've just gone into said game and I'm back at normal GPU temps. Could failing RAM cause such a thing?

Ok so now it's only recognising 4 gigs instead of 8 after I swapped it out for known good RAM.

It's a right faff to keep getting into it because it's a tiny case, but something isn't right.

This just gets more bizarre.

So I've inserted one stick of each of the previously thought faulty RAM, ran memtest and it's found no errors. Stick one booted fine and did everything normal. Stick two BSOD abut three times before actually settling down, I'm now running from stick two so whatever was causing that I don't know.

I'm wondering if this is video driver linked? I've just decided to do some stress testing and I started EVGA OC scanner X and it looks like it's running on internal GFX as the GPU usage doesn't go up and I only get 1 FPS.

I'm going to try a clean install of a previously good nvidia driver, thinking about it I've only really been having issues since 331.65 was released.
