Epic games launcher query

Was going to wait for Metro Exodus to come onto STEAM. But caved in and bought it from EPIC.

Only on ADSL2+ so a 13+ hour download for me (now completed).

But... half way through the download, I paused it and went to shut the EPIC games launcher down (expecting it to work like STEAM). And got a warning that the "install" would be cancelled. As I did not want to potentially loose what I had already downloaded, I left it running.

Question. Surely if I had shut it down, I would not have meant that I would have had to start downloading from the start? Surely it's not that stupid a piece of software!

Or is it just that the message EPIC games launcher throws out is confusing!

I got it on Steam. I have a VPN for Epic exclusives

Have you tried asking on their forum?

I've quit in the middle of installing Fortnite. Totally forgot about it, came back two weeks later and it continued from where it left off.
