It is cold calls. Your bank may write to you, Monserrat. Never ever deal with a claims handling company.
I've always said no when they asked. Maybe i should have been a sucker![]()
Yes but as already explained your anaology would read 'going down to the purple shirt place buying a crapy £300 laptop and been told you could not have it, nor any other laptop unless you agreed to a £50 a month insurance policy'
I don't believe banks forced people to take ppi.
You can believe what you want but many banks DID force PPI on people as a condition of a credit agreement.
Many banks also sold PPI by misrepresenting the benefits of the PPI or what it would cover - often knowing full well it would be useless give the customers personal circumstances.
I don't believe banks forced people to take ppi. I was asked several times when taking out credit cards and loans but always refused because I actually read the terms and knew the product was poor value
Even if I was forced to take ppi I would simply just have used another bank
Maybe if people sat down and read what they were being offered, they might of seen that.

Epic win against a bank you say??...nah it would be an epic win if you had managed to wangle a few billions out of them![]()
And what if you read what is written is misrepresnted, inaccurate or false?
Cool story bro
I remember when I got a credit card and I was offered PPI. I told them I was a student and all I got was student loans. The person claimed that if for some reason I was unable to get my money then I would be covered.
I couldn't be bothered to say anything other than politely declining. The people that were selling PPI obviously had no idea what the T&Cs were and were probably just given a short primer and told to push PPI as much as they could.
Maybe if people sat down and read what they were being offered, they might of seen that.
must have not read the last line.![]()
