Anyone know of a good but inexpensive EPOS software, that they can recommend. I have checked through google, but thought may as well ask for opinions here just in case someone has used one or works with one

What do you class as inexpensive? We have a company installing one for us at the moment. It is cheap - but that's in comparison to other system. 6 till systems & some back office stuff is costing us upwards of 10k, including hardware etc. However, some quotes we had were far above this.

If you wanted to go opensource, you could try OpenBravo POS.

Is it for Retail or Hospitality?

Also, as mentioned in the last post, what do you consider as cheap?

Don't fall into the trap of getting quotes, then speccing the hardware yourself for half the cost.
The reason why companies quote so much is for the support of the hardware.
After fitting the gear and setting it up you go on holiday for a week and it all goes down, it'll all be down to you to sort out, whereas a professional job means that one phone call later and a support guy/gal will be on hand to fix it up, while you are still on your holiday!.

Just a basic heads up really, there is a reason why costs are so high for professional services.

Thought I would bump this thread as Im looking for a sinlge user EPOS system for a shop with approx 5000 products. Till drawer would be a benefit but not essential.

Happy to maintain it ourselves to keep costs down as if it breaks while Im not there we can switch to manual records as its only a small part of the business really but need to find a solution none the less.

Thanks
