Having taken the plunge and purchased an Epox EP-9NPAJ SLi nForce4 SLi (Socket 939) PCI-Express and a Leadtek 7600GT (along with a few other bits), I spent the weekend putting it all together and reinstalling XP.
All seems to be working fine, but the forceware drivers seem to be telling me that my PCI-E slot is working at 8x, when it should be working at 16x. The epox mobo has a flip card method for chaning between 8x SLi and 16x single card mode, and I have this inserted into the slot to give me 16x performance, however Forceware still reports only 8x. The mobo manual makes no mention of anything else necessary to select 16x, and I can find nothing in the Bios to adjust. So, how do I get 16x?
