eps connector question

hi

having just diagnosed a dead psu in my machine, i have purchased a corsair rm850 to replace it. i need to power the eps connector on mobo, this has an 8 pin socket with four blanked. new psu has 8 pin connector. am i ok to remove the blanking plug and connect, or is it blanked for any reason??

Looking on their website:

You can see the blanking plug in the images, no idea why but I know you can power a board from 1 x 4pin.

Specification mention it's 1 x 8 pin so would use it as an 8pin.

thankyou, i got all brave, pulled the blanking plug and went for it.

system back up and working, all looks ok.
