Epson 750 Printer USB

Hi People,
I have an Epson Stylus Photo 750. It’s going back a few years but prints ok, and I have a stock of ink for it.

I was using XP with Epson system 2000 drivers (that’s the latest (only) XP ones they do) and the Parallel port on my printer, on an older computer with no problems – all was well until I got myself a new rig.
The new computer has (an Asus P5W Motherboard) and it only has USB connections for the printer, and when I connect it XP Home tells me the Device is not recognised. Although Properties in Device Manager tells me it’s working ok. Now I have tried 3 different USB cables. One for an External ICY Dock that I know works allright. All to no avail, and it’s the same on all the other USB ports on the computer so I presume the printer end is shot. So to my question, does anyone know if this Epson printer driver and printer will work ok if I get a USB (computer end) to Parallel (Printer end) Converter Cable, and if it’s ok do I choose USB or Parallel in the set up.

Any Ideas or suggestions. Thanks in advance.
