epson dx3800 printer

Hi

for some strange reason when I print my printer is printing very faintly. i replaced the cartridge last week and same problem.

Anyone with a epson dx3800 multifunctional printer experience this problem before?

I have gone into settings (preferences) and changed quality to "best text and photo"

Just dont get what happened all of a sudden...So far its only happens on black ink..

Not posting with an answer to your question sorry, but I have to say the DX3800 Epson printer is the worst pc purchase I have ever made. I don't do many prints but it seems this printer wants to magically make ink vanish like some kind of elctronic Paul Daniels. Not uncommon for me to get 3 sheets of A4 out of a full cartridge before it runs out. Needless to say I will not be buying an Epson printer again. I suggest you bin this printer and use this thread to ask for reccomendations for a replacement.

I have a DX3800 and for the price its great.

I pay £3 for a set of 4 inks and i regularly print 50 pages a week with it.

Sometimes i do have problems after changing the cartridge but a few head cleaning rounds normally fixes it.

If you change the settings to best quality photo im assuming your printing on photo paper?
