If you want good quality, glossy, colour 6x4 prints that are supposed to be reasonably fade resistant then these are very good for the money.

Both my parents and my girlfriend use the standard picturemate and are very pleased with the results.

If you intend to use it as a stand alone printer then pay the extra for the screen on the 500. If not then pick up a bargain Picturemate and plug it into your PC. Not sure how much they are now but my gf purchased a Picturemate for £75 last year.

Only problems are that they are a bit slow and the ink pack is just that, a single pack with all the colours in it. If you want to print B & W you'll end up wasting masses of ink.

i went for the epson r340 instead of one of these, it has all the same features, better print quality, bigger prints a4 sized, and it has 6 seperate cartridges, meanin you only replace the colour you need.
it was only £30 more than the picture mate.

buy yourself a bluetooth adapter cheap from ebay, and its amazin how well phone cam pics come out.

if money is no object the picturemate 500 is the best, the 6 colour printing make quite a big difference in the vibrance of the pics. never heard of a straight picturemate, take it your meaning which is better picturemate 100 or 500. in which case 500 is best.

although the only difference between them is the 500 prints with 6 inks, 100 prints with 4. and the 500 doesn't look so cheap.

you can still add bluetooth to both which is far the best feature.

Hi Mattius, there is a picturemate, picturemate 100, picturemate 500. Logic tells me that the 100 is better than the standard but quite a few places have the picturemate 100 at cheaper than the picturemate so thats were the confusion sets in (its not difficult!).

the picturemate 100 is the one to go for, with these type of printers newer the better as the paper packs they use becomes obsolette quickly.

your answering your own question, just because its cheaper doesn't mean its worse.
