Im really considering having a jolly into the world of EQ2. I have never played EQ but from the site it looks pretty much the sort of thing I like. I have three questions though -

1. Is the PvP servers full of ganking idiots who completely ruin the fun? Is PvP decent? Do you have to play on US servers to find good combat and if so, is it really laggy (4mb DSL here).

2. Is housing implemented? Can you decorate them like in UO? At what level are they available?

3. Are mounts available? Is there a level cap on them like WoW or free to anyone like UO?

So those are my questions, any recommendations on servers? PvP ones please.

Thanks :)

I rolled on the UK server but its so dead , so I started again on the US server which has a much healthily population , there is a level range so a lvl 70 cant gank a lvl 20 ;-) haven’t had any lag problems playing on the us server

Yes you can have a house make stuff tables, chairs and stuff

mounts are available but cost allot not sure on the lvl req sorry

no lvl req on mounts as far as I remember.

pvp is decent but there are gankers & people who lock xp at certain levels so they can max out equipment/weapons etc. Nagafen is the best server (US server) wasn't laggy at all for me with a similar connection to you

Overall a decent pvp game.

i dunno about pvp but i can answer the other 2 questions.

you get a house from the get go and can decorate it how you like, if you have the money you can buy crazy things for it and when i bought the game with the expansions i had something like 3 pets i could put in my house straight away too, its also possible to upgrade the sort of housing you have.. larger in house vaults etc (im stilll on basic house)

mounts are expensive-- well i heard the flying carpet is free but you have to do a level 50 quest for it;i am level 18 at the moment and i already have 22 gold as i have been selling adepts at 5g a piece to transmuters using my in house market board.

i think if its really important to you, i dont see why you couldnt afford a basic horse quite early on (drops permitting)

hth ! :)
