I have a few Equallogic SANs knocking around, some 6000's and 4000's, but there is an irritating problem..
The replication settings seem to be few and far between. There doesnt seem to be any option for compression for replication over the WAN.
I have some sites being mirrored with other partner sites, and say for instance I did a server restore from an image, it would try and replicated the full 10-20GB of data instead of just the changes to the data.
Are our SANS crap? Do other SANS offer replication compression over the WAN?
As a test even a 1GB file means 1GB of data transfer, unlike the DFS-R system that seems better designed for WAN replication...
Any thoughts?
