Hi Guys,

Just a quick one,

What would you say the equivalent single card to 2 x 7600GT in SLi.

Im under taking a project to get the best out of an ancient PC.
I want to replace these two with something a little more powerful.
The mobo only runs PCI-E.
I have already replaced the CPU with the best the board can handle - Pentium D 960 @ 4.0Ghz. (£30)

Just interested in ideas for the GPUs

Cheers

Do the current cards run on PCI-E? i know most of the earlier PCI-E 2.0 cards were backwards compatable but i wasn't sure on the newer ones?

Anything more than an 8800gt will probably be held back by your cpu.

Buy second hand is probably the best way, cheaper and you'll still get something a lot lot better than 2x7600gt's!!

Anything better than a 8800GT will just cause a bottleneck because of your CPU - if you want to do some serious gaming, you will need to do a complete upgrade.

It currently has 2Gb of RAM, didn't want to unsettle to overclock which I'm happy with considering how hot it runs.

I have got my new system on order, But ive got a month or so's wait for a few pieces.

I'll try out a 8800, maybe 2 if their cheap enough.

Cheers Guys.

Grab yourself a 4850.
A big improvement in performance for ~£70.Better than the 8800GT mentioned too.

If you've been getting by with 2 7600GTs then you probably don't do much modern gaming. No need to spend £150 on a card.

if you got a £150 to spend you can buy a C2D cpu, mobo and a 8800 GT for that amount, second hand that is.

Actually, might have a card for you quite cheap if you set up your trust account.

I would put it in the MM but you won't have access.
