Hi, i have an ATI X850XT PE, and have recently made a switch to linux, but due to poor support by the ATI drivers I have decided to switch to the vastly superior (in linux) nVidia range.

So, can anyone suggest a reasonable card that will have better performance than the above in Windows games such as WoW and will last a while into the future, but at a reasonable price?

No real budget here. Bang for buck most important, with longevity.

Its gonna be hard to swap to the 'dark side' from ATI, but ATIs just don't seem to cut it apart from on windows.

Cheers.

Without knowing an approximate budget, resolution, or even if AGP or PCI-E, probably the best would be a 7600GT, unless you have more like £150 or so to spend.
Going up the price range...

OCuk 7900GS
7950 GT
8800 GTS
8800 GTX

Sorry, stupid me: forgot to post requirements.

Its PCI-E, price range is around £150, unless there is a real good card for good value, needs dual output (vga/dvi) and thats about it really.

OCuk 7900 GS - go for the 512MB version as more memory and the memory is clocked faster. Don't forget to overclock...
