An odd question for the people of OcUK but what the hey...

My fiancée has a very cheap crappy set of curling tongs and she has very long hair (down to her waist) so as you can imagine she gets quite frustrated with curling it. Her birthday is coming up so it sounds to me like a good present to go for. Now I understand that GHD is pretty much the daddy of the world of straighteners, but what is best when it comes to curlers?

I just asked the missus. She is the fanatic of hair products. Hair down to her bottom.

She shouted "Get her Treseme ones, they rock" :D

Also GHDs. It takes a bit of practice to get the knack of doing curls instead but once you are used to it the are better than any curling tongs. The only way I can get curls to stay in my hair is if I used GHDs. If I use anything else the curls just drop out.

Thanks so far, though confusion strikes!

I did indeed think that the GHDs were only straighteners. I bought her a wide set of Remmington wet to straights a few years ago as the wideness means she can straighten it a lot faster, but if the GHD IV Salon stylers do the job of curling as well I might look at them. Obviously competitors aside anywhere cheaper to get them?

I'll take a peek at the Tresemme ones too.

I use my GHD's to both straighten and curl my hair, and I can definitely recommend them. My hair stays curly all day, or if I just flick the ends of it out, it stays like it for a couple of days until I wash it.

The person who bought me mine got them from a hairdressers.

I bought the missus some GHD IV's last year and she uses them to straighten and curl her hair. She loves them.

I bought them direct from the GHD website.
