Erasing iphone

I recently bought an iphone 4 so my old 3g has to be sold. Trouble is, after I ran the erase, when I turn the device back on, it still has my itunes account information. I think this may be because I am pluging it back into my comp so I can access the home screen of it. All the music, photos, contacts, everything is gone as far as I can tell. My account information though, is still there.

I have tried re setting via the phone, and did it through itunes but its still there.

Any ideas on what I am doing wrong?
