Hello all,
A few years back I was involved in an accident that left me with a broken wrist. I’ve started having major issues when using the computer which is leaving my wrist in considerable pain even after short periods of usage! I’ve been looking at changing my mouse to an ergonomic mouse following advice from my consultant and Physiotherapist; however there doesn’t appear to be much information on them reviews wise aside from a slew of useless unboxing videos on YouTube!
I’m interested to know if anyone here uses an ergonomic mouse and what you think of them. The two I’m looking at are the Microsoft Sculpt Ergonomic Mouse or one of the cheap vertical mice from a popular online e-tailer. Are they at all viable for occasional light gaming? Looking at the two I’ve selected, the Microsoft Sculpt Ergonomic looks like the most promising but I’m worried that due to it being wireless and the different hand position it will fall short. To be honest though I’ve not used a modern wireless mouse so have no idea how they stack up when compared to wired mice. I have been using a Logitech G9 for years but sadly it has gotten to the point I can barely use it anymore!
I’m not a hardcore gamer by any stretch so absolute pin point accuracy and ultra fast response times would largely be wasted on me, I would however like something that is workable for a cheeky round or two of Overwatch/Battlefield every now and then in addition to general usage. Also if anyone reading this has or has had similar issues with RSI/Carpal Tunnel or wrist pain in general I’d love to hear from you what you’ve done that has helped improve the situation. I’ve personally tried a wrist supporting mouse pad which did see some improvement however on its own it still isn’t enough to make the issue go away. I have also of course just tried using the computer less in general however it’s hard to avoid using one when you rely on it heavily for work!
Cheers.
