Hi

Right now I am using just a normal keyboard and I would like to buy a new keyboard. I am wondering if it is better to get a ergonomic or a mechanical keyboard. I never had a chance to use either of kinds. I play quite a lot of games so it would be used for gaming and a day to day use.

Do you have any recommendations? I am looking for a keyboard for up to £60 +-£10

Really depends on your preference to be honest, I'm an avid user of Mechs and i currently have two, so my vote goes for them. I've never really got the ergonomic keyboard thing, a friend of mine had a M$ one and i didn't like it at all but that's it for my experience with them.

With mechs though, you're probably going to go with MX switches at that pricepoint, and you really need to go and try them out to see which you'd prefer. But, saying that i bought my first, a Ducky shine 3 with Browns, without trying them and i was fine with that. I currently use a keycool 84 hero with blacks and o-rings and i really dig it as it's so tiny!

Some of the CM storm mech boards should be around that price point and are supposed to be a good intro to mechs, i'd avoid any Razer offerings personally! If you look on ebay there are plenty to be found but i'd stick to the bigger names such as Ducky, Filco, CM, etc.

Here is a buying guide from the subreddit you can have a look through =]

The corsair boards are supposed to be okay, i don't really dig the open design they use since it opens it up to getting dirty and whatnot. It would appear there's been a bit of a price increase since i last looked at buying but some to look for:

-CM Storm Quickfire series, either full size or TKL.
-Ducky Zero, again full size or TKL

There are so many keyboards, which is making it hard for me to choose which one to get. The aesthetics of the keyboard are quite important for me as well as the durability and the way of typing and gaming.

I have looked at a few like the quickfire series and ducky zero which you have recommended Fonzie.

-Microsoft Sculpt Ergonomic Desktop kit
-Ducky DK2108S Zero Zone Blue LED Mechanical Keyboard
-Cooler Master Quick Fire TK Cherry MX Red
-Corsair K65

which one would you say that is best for gaming and typing. The price is also important.

thanks in advance
