I have a combination boiler and today it has started constantly hissing even when I've turned the boiler off, I'm kind of concerned it could be a gas leak given it's happening even when turned off and I'm unable to contact the landlord until tomorrow, nor can I afford ringing the gas company and having a call out... what do :s

Is it a condensing boiler? Condensation occurs at a lower temperature than most heating systems are set at (50-60 deg) so most boilers don't do much condensing! It may be that it's kicked in...but I'm not an expert :p

If you report a leak it will be fixed free. Something like that is too serious to be untreated but you'd have blown up by now if it was leaking (I'd assume).

Ah managed to get the landlord in the end, had disabled the gas and it was still happening and have since found the issue (leaking radiator)

If you can't smell gas around the boiler or at the vent, then it's not a gas leak.

Could be snakes,
have you checked for snakes? Long thin buggers.
