I think that the 8800gtx is right up there with the ATI 9700 pro when it comes to cards that stonked on all else and reigned as king for a long time.
Ive gone to running 1600x1200 to 1920x1200 with no noticable hit on performance, ta da da da da, im lovin it.
OK Ive dicided on a monitor, the OcUK Value L2442W 24" Widescreen LCD Monitor . Seems to be getting brilliant feedback and its 24"!!...So which graphics card now?
GTS or GTX?

I've gotta get rid of my GTS 640mb card because it sucks compared to the GTX - especially when I start using aa. :/
maybe i'm just mad, who knows, but i'm looking to go with a gts 512 after reading this review, purely cos I'll be keeing the card for a good year, and the gtx 728 is at the end of its run now.

The GTX is faster than the GTS 512 now and will still be faster in 12 months. The cards dont get slower with age, only in comparrison with newer cards. My GTX is 12 months old and is as fast now as it was then. It will play COD4 as well in 12 months as it does currently

never mentioned the cards slow down with age.
what i ment was that surely they are gonna phase the 320/6XX/7XXmb 8series cards out with the introduction of the newer models and 9xxx somewhere in the new year. normally when the top flight cards start dropping down in price theyre superseded.
anyway,
you missed his point.
if he is buying it now why does it matter if they get phased out?
LOL at all the people who waited for the GTS and are now buying a GTX, a card that was out 12 months + ago. (ok so it is now 1/2 price)
Even bigger LOL at the people buying a GTS because the GTX is old. If you have a 24" it is better. Unless you have a tiny case, weak PSU or are in Greenpeace.

and your all missing the point, I was giving my reason for choosing the GTS. Also, I game at 1440x900, also for what its worth gts is apparently greater in the shader dept. at this res, also blow me thankyou.
P.S. I also wish I'd got the GT, then I wouldnt have looked at this gtx thread
P.P.S I also think the gtx is a mighty card, hell its held the spot light and has been the undefeated champion of graphics cards since its launch .... however, I choose the Zotac 8800 GTS 512mb cos thats the one I wanted.
