bugger, i bought the two of them based on looking on the internet, they are both meant to fit.

the 7600gt has another funny heatsink on the lower right hand side as well? which I have never seen before.

very very annoyed.

will take a pic and upload them to my website abit later one.

leadtek A7600GT TDH and Zalman VF-900-Cu.

pics on seen on the internet show the leadtek PX7600GT and that fits. I have also seen threads from forums where people have said that their A7600GT fits the VF-900.

bah, either that I am just an idiot (very possible) dont have much time to mess with it as I am busy for the next few days.

bugger should have seen that, duh I used google and looked up the online manual as in that post.

bah.

just curious since I took the HS off, I'm gonna replace it with AS5, but the cooler on the host chip its a pink colout compound that is spread all over the HS although only a tiny die in the centre is in contact with the HS.

Can or should I replace the thermal compound? seeing as I have unseated it and the compund may not be spread out evenyl anymore.

if so, do I have to cover the entire HS bit with AS5? which I think is possibly a bad idea.

You'll need to cover the whole die (GPU) with AS5, but get it as thin as you can.

That mini heatsink is the bridging chip, as it is at heart a PCI-E card running in a AGP slot.
