Hi so on my laptop I did all the steps here
https://whatsabyte.com/windows/err_name_not_resolved/
but nothing worked.
I did chage the dns but nothing seems to be letting on to the website and clearing everything using ccleaner
I am still getting ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED and DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN error.
I am with bt with their bt hub.
Can some help me.
This on my window 8.1 laptop.
I know that all of the google shopping if you search for a product and then what to go the site it just gives me the same error and their advertisements sites on page one of Google don't work either.
Any idea on how to fix this its been driving me mad i don't mind even doing team viewer if it gets this fixed.

Firstly, edit your main description, seems like you got same information in couple times....

Then do this for us....

Code:
1. Start > Run > Type CMD > Press Enter > (Command Prompt) > Type "ipconfig /all" > Press Enter > Paste the results here.
Code:
2. Start > Run > Type CMD > Press Enter > (Command Prompt) > Type "tracert bt.com" > Press Enter > Paste the results here.

Just out of curiosity are you using a VPN....

Have you modified your hosts file? Or have you installed a program previously that adds entries to block certain ad sites?

Paste the contents here please.

You switched to OpenDNS (by Cisco) who also have adblocking built in to the DNS service. Try using 1.0.0.1 and 1.1.1.1 instead. As above, also check your hosts file for adblocking entries. The only 'issue' in your YT video was that Google Ad Services was blocked - if you call that an issue. I block all ads and trackers by default anyway.

Hi my host files has a lot stiff in it that i did not put there. I chaged and now its back again. Something keeps adding in stuff to host file. and I have changed my dns ipv4 to 1.0.0.1 and 1.1.1.1 and here is ipconfig /all results

C:\Windows\system32>

In the ipv6 what setting do i need to put in here as they are all blank.

Reinstalling Windows is a nuclear option and you may well end up back in the same position anyway. Post up your hosts file here so we can look for clues as to the cause.

Try running a system repair from the install disk before you do a full re-install.

Windows 8 has system restore available as an option too?
