Hi guys, ive got me a crappy lil sempron 3000+ (socket 754) its currently oc'ed to 2.6ghz with the vcore set to 1.55v however i get an extremely erratic vcore.. obviously this isnt normal however is this at all dangerous do you guys thing?

It might lead to instability if the low spike's drop beneath the minimum stable voltage for that chip. It's more of a problem on Intel where 0.05V Vdroop is common, just means you need to set the BIOS value higher than you otherwise would.

very odd - been poking around the volt regs and mosfetts and stuff and non see to be overheating.. but then i dont really know what there operating temp should be. i had instability on 2.6ghz.. a game kept crashing (although system would happly superpi and orthos) 2.5ghz totaly stable but still the vcore is up and down (although not QUITE as much) very odd.. :s got a new system coming in january so i cant say im too botherd.. just seems really odd thats all

*edit*

this motherboard dosent allow to put the vcore above 1.55v - however there is a volt mod to get it to 2.6v which i might just try (closer to the new system arriving).. and try 2.6ghz again.. although i imagine it will still be erratic it should be enough to stop it dropping enough to become unstable at 2.6ghz - i would have guessed anyway..

also this is a new problem - well i say that i never noticed it before and a few weeks ago 2.6ghz was totaly stable.. maybe just the motherboard or psu showing its age or something  thaanks for replys anyway lads
