Friend of mines pc has this, The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0150004). Click ok to close the program. Does anyone know how to help solve this, all I know is that it was working ok and he turned his pc off by the power supply button by mistake. Ive searched for problem and cant come up with anything, its a new pc only 4 days old. Thanks
 
Its windows 7 premium,he tried system restore but it wouldnt work and his pc didn't come with a recovery disc.
 
When starting a programme, also it played you tube videos before it happened,now it wont, just pixelates .Not sure what he has installed except a game bundle he got with system which worked ok,now doesnt and avg, only thing that works ok is chrome, I asked him to re-sit his GPU and memory but don't think he has, think he's scared to ...its his first pc .
 
His pc also wont let him delete any program because I asked him to delete last thing he knew before pc went weird.

What recovery? System restore? System recovery from the hard disk? System recovery from provided cd/dvd media?

What happened when running sfc /scannow? Did it give an error? Was it run from an elevated command prompt?

Can you give us the specification of the pc?
 
He's its tried all them except a recovery disc. His pc didn't come with one even though it was pre-installed,its a amd 6350 and gigabyte board, running windows 7 premium. Thinking only thing left is getting a disc and either try repair or format and start again...don't know if its a windows problem or other software,he cant open anything at set up after download because this error keeps coming up soon as he clicks it
 
Reinstalling Windows is an option I guess.

I would be very tempted to return the PC as its brand new.

One forum post I have found suggests this is an issue with a Microsoft Visual C ++ runtime - see if that is installed. Remove and/or update it.
 
If this error message is only occurring when loading the one program, either remove, reinstall or update it.

I know you said your friend has tried to delete it and failed, so maybe you could have a look for him as a fresh pair of eyes never hurts maybe you will spot something he missed. Also no matter how deep this program has installed itself into the system, it is a program at the end of the day so there will be a way of removing it just keep looking.

Just out of interest what program is it?
 
With any program he tries to download and install ,i tried the delete visual C +on my pc and it downloaded and installed again no problem but when he tried any of them he got the error message again.. and windows update failed to install any visual c + ,same trying to download AVG or any another software...just gets the application error please close programme.
 
Perhaps you could drop a few utilities on a usb stick for him to try. I would run ccleaner and malwarebytes over it as a precaution and put revo uninstaller on it. See if Revo can remove the visuall c++ stuff.
 
Gave up in the end and formatted and installed windows again.I downloaded a version and he used his key to verify, wasn't the ram, checked everything we could even a repair using the downloaded disc..last I heard it was working ok so thanks for the replies guys.
