error code 10

wireless network card (atheros ar5001) chipset.

wont start in vista, which it DID at one point im (RC2)
device cannot start, error code 10



tried every driver, including windows update and older ones.
installed in every compatibility mode,
disabled all ir ports, usb, parallell stuff on my laptop also..
any ideas on this error??

my laptop is an alienware area51m-766

wlan a+b+g mini pci

oh and a FRESH vista RTM install twice did not cure it either...
was working fine in rc2, then one day i booted and error occurred...no hardware has been added/changed. so i got RTM and it still wont work in this.....


possibly buggered card?
if its confirmed vista prob thats fine i'll wait...
but dont wanna reinstall xp to find out card works thats all.

You dont 'just get vista RTM'. Reinstall XP instead.

I had the same problem when trying to install ATI drivers on my graphics card on beta 2. Maybe it's just plain incompatable.

Have you checked on the manufacturers website for Vista drivers?

yeah ive tried lots of drivers.....none for vista though...

funny thing is it WAS working...

very strange.

oh and to the above post....
i "JUST GOT" it off msdn ok.
