Error code -36

Keep getting this error code when writing to or copying from a new SSD, could it be that it's a 6 Gigabit drive in the optical bay? System profiler says that the link speed is 6 Gigabit, same for negotiated link speed.

It should still run at a slower speed. That's usually an I/O issue, not uncommon with a lack of power, at least with external drives anyway.

Have you run any SSD checkers / tried a format etc..?

My opti bay is 6G so don't think it'd run slower. I switched them around, i.e. 3G in optibay and 6G in main bay and seems fine now.

I thought it was only the 15/17" 2011 MBPs with 6G issues in optibay, guess not!
