errors in GFX card.

Hi all,
My gfx card is producing lines on POST and then when it gets up to Windows GPUz still shows it to be a 8800GT but is running a 16 bit mode.
I don't have access to a second card to try it out, if I produce a video can anyone have a look at it to see what they think.

If we do think its the card can anyone suggest a replacement for a 8800GT 512Mb its going to be on a 1600 x 1050 screen with the rest of the spec in my sig.

Sounds like the card is on its way out, do you have a budget in mind as the Nvidia 460 would be good.

same thing happened to my 8800gt yesterday. I know what you'll think when i say this, but to fix it i took the plastic fan socket off + the cooler, then popped it in the oven at 200 degrees for 8-9 minutes. Works great now!

If that fails get a 460

What do you place it on in the oven? I know this sounds silly but baking tray? grease proof paper? or....?

Gonna try this cooking idea in a mo, but if this fails is this a good option as a replacement?
