Firstly my rig,

A64 3800+ x2 (@2500)
2 GIG G.skill
DFI NF4 Ultra-D
2*120 Gig Hard drives (1 on sata 1 and the other on sata 3 - NOT IN RAID)
1*Dual Layer DVD-RW on IDE 1
1*Single layer DVD-RW on IDE 2
Geforce 7800GT

The drives are partitioned such that SATA 1 contains a 50GB partition with windows XP and the rest is unused space. SATA 2 contains 2 Partions, 1 5GB for windows swap file and the rest for storage.

I already have a windows XP installation that I don't want to lose on Disk 1 on SATA 1. I was planning on installing SUSE 10 on the unused space on this drive, But when I run the install DVD at the point when it's detecting the Hard drives it states that it has found a software RAID that is unsupported by Kernal 2.6 and that all data on that RAID will be destroyed.

Now I know for a fact the the 2 SATA drives are very definitely not in RAID (it's diasbled in BIOS and I've cleared BIOS a couple of times) what can I do to get these drives detected properly?

Cheers for any help

I thought that would probaly be the case, it was the all data will be destoyed bit that worried me
I have about 60 Gig of free space for SUSE, how would you recommend I partition it for optimum usage?
