ES Explorer - Unable to Get Root Permission

I'm using the Android app "ES Explorer" (Pro or Free) as a secondary file manager app (the other being "Root Explorer").
But, after I clean installed MM 6.01 on my devices. I can't switch on the setting within ES Explorer to enable root permissions.
Obviously I'm rooted.

I get a message like "Sorry, test failed! This feature cannot run on your device"
Does anyone else have the same problem or is it working for you?

Thank you.

I would use another file explorer app if I were you. ES was bought out by a Chinese company quite a while back, and I remember reading about it tracking data.

As above, there's a lot of bloat in ES now which makes it not worth using. Any reason why you need a secondary file explorer? Doesn't root explorer do everything?

An alternative is Solid File Explorer.

Thank you for the replies :)

I do block it from the internet with a firewall.

I bought it for 10p and want to make the most of my investment :D
It's mainly used for backing up apps. The apk's seem easy to find and copy to another location in ES.

Solid allows you to back up applications as well.

So is this the pro version of ES, seeing as you paid for it?

Have you check app permissions to ensure ES has access to everything? Maybe the firewall is also somehow affecting it?

Thanks, I'll look into "Solid".

Yes, the Pro and the free versions. Uninstalled/reinstalled multiple times.
I've just checked the permissions and they're allowed.

Yesterday, on my tablet I restored 5.02 and 6.01 clean install (no additional apps installed) backups.
It worked fine on 5.02, but not 6.01.

I've just checked the Google Play site for the Pro version and someone else as posted a comment, that it doesn't work for them either.
It might need the app updating the fix the problem.
