Just out of interest, has anyone ever had an ES CPU? If so, did it work ok and how did they come about this processor?

ive had a couple....they usually clock really well but dont have any thermal control (i think) so if they get to hot you will fry them but that isnt really going to happen....got mine from the bay...that place is full of them

Turns out I had an ES X3450. As far as I could tell it was exactly the same as a normal X3450, but then again I was using it on a 'non-compatible' motherboard (Maximus III Gene). When used on a server board it shows up as an ES.

I've had a couple of 754 Clawhammer samples, a 478 Northwood and a T7600.
All of them behaved as expected and were average clockers. (T7600 never clocked of course)

If I remember right the Northwood was unlocked...

I had an ES Conroe E6300. It was multiplier locked as well

Could only get it to 2.8 so not a particulrly good clocker either :p
