Ok so i have been using an external hdd for a while now and have noticed that the hdd had the jumper on limiting it to 1.5gbps and if i removed it to use the full 3gbps it would work then i looked at my interface card and after doing some research found that esata cards for pcmcia can only go up to 1.5gbps. I also noticed another slot in my laptop and found out that this is a express card slot my question is, there seems to be a lot of expresscard/34 esata cards out there, would they work in my expresscard/54 slot?

3Gbps is the burst speed, and in reality doesnt offer much performance (if any) over a 1.5gbps interface. So dont bother looking for a new card.

Got the same question. Can't find any esata expresscard/54 anywhere. Will a 34 work?
