The specs on these are pretty impressive, 90MBps read and 30MBps write.

Do most modern PC's have eSata ports now? They also come with a USB cable for non-eSata PC's but if that's the case, I presume the the transfer rate is on par with USB flash or is it still more?

Do they significantly improve PC speed if used as ready boost?

Ta :)

i havent seen many eSata ports tbh, apart from home built pc's, might be worth while buying a USB stick, dirt cheap atm
how much is the eSata flash drive gonna cost?

ReadyBoost is apparently pretty pointless if you've an above-mid range rig anyway.

Are you looking at the OCZ Throttle? Try digging up a couple of reviews on it. Seems that even to use the eSATA you have to have the USB plugged in for power, unless it's a powered eSATA (?) port. Definitely not as portable then, so I guess if speed is your only concern then it'll probably only be a bad idea if you've no eSATA. Seems pretty pointless for uni/work machines with having to drag a cable around.

I've picked up a 16Gb USB stick for £15.

£24 for an 8Gb stick.

I'm stll on a 939 board at the moment with DDR400 RAM.

Yes I am. I would also get an eSATA port.

Looks like it's probably pointless until more PC's have eSATA ports as standard. Nice though.
