eSata for Macbooks and MBPs

Would I need an eSata express card to have access to a nice fast interface for video editing (want to have separate HDs for source and target drives)? If so any recomendations?

Anyone able to offer any advice here? Been looking at an MBP for the missus (and actually tempted to buy one for me too now!)

I have no experience with eSata but you will definitely need a express card. For that reason you can only do it on a MacBook Pro because the standard MacBook does not have an express card slot.

I use a esata card in my mac pro, it's very fast but the only drawback is you can't boot from it. I'm pretty sure it'll be the same on a macbook.

Same only on a Macbook Pro.

As said above, non-Pro Macbooks do not have ExpressCard slots, so eSATA is no-go.
