Replacing my precision screwdrivers and was wondering about the benefits of ESD drivers. I have been working on computers for 25 years and have never seen any issue caused by static, never really bought in to anti-static wristbands and stuff, however I now have to choose between regular and ESD drivers and was wondering if the is any benefit? The price difference isn't massive but I can't see any employer/client that demands use of a wristband letting you not use one just because you had them.

Anyone use them and any thoughts on them? :)

I have been building systems for over 20 years and never had an issue using none ESD screwdrivers but if its not much difference in price then go for the ESD just for the sake of it. I have used ESD straps and matts a lot tho but I work in a DEV environment.

EDIT: I forgot, Costco have a great set of Wera screwdrivers for cheap at the moment. I think they are only insulated not ESD but they are brilliant quality,
