ESET Smart Security 4 Issues

Ok so I had been using a combination of Avira Personal and Comodo Internet Security for my protection, with of course Windows Defender and Firewall. Seemed fine for a while and have recently had a bit of a virus scare. I figured it's time to buy some proper anti-virus protection and after much deliberation went with the ESET Smart Security 4.0 package, which set me back £40 (not the best purchase ever.)

I uninstalled Comodo, Avira as it requested and installed SS.

Now whenever I boot up and log in, my pc becomes useless, I can't even ctrl+alt+del to try and work around anything, all I can do is move my mouse cursor. The pc appears to be running fine, but I can't actually do anything at all. My sig below details system specs, I can't imagine it to be a hardware issue in any way, is this just a poor anti-virus program?

Thanks in advance for any replies.

Nod32 is amazing, so no its not a poor program,

did you reboot in-between uninstalling your other overtop protection before installing Nod32?

Hey guys, thanks for the reply, ended up having my dns messed over upon uninstallation of ESET again.

I couldn't get it working at all in the end, tried so many things. Fortunately they have been kind enough to give me a full refund on the product and now I'm using Kaspersky 2010, it's working like a dream thankfully.

Thank you for your help guys.

Regards, Paul Smith.
