Eset Smart Security RC1 & NOD32 3.0 RC1 Released

been using the eset antivirus 3 beta, okay interface (more simple than before)

but it's a few more clicks to disable the antivirus than before, a right click disable would be awesome (like in avast)

Does theis v3.0 have anything over the current v2.7 NOD32? I mean, will it help prevent viruses and detect more? Or is it a just a re-vamped GUI?

Do you need to DL both those files or just the NOD32 one?

Cheers. :)

just the nod32 one

the other is nod32 + eset firewall, personally, xp's firewall is plenty for me

Yeah it seems to be. Plenty of scope for creating rules.

I'm liking it so far.
Excellent. Including a "kill it with fire" rule? :p Currently using Sunbelt Kerio but if the Smart Security with the firewall is as good as the NOD32 AV on its own is but has a fully featured decent firewall I might be tempted to switch.

Any ideas how much I'd have to pay to upgrade to the Smart Security considering I have NOD32 already. I've got a three year licence for NOD32 so would I be able to do some kind of upgrade of my licence to the Smart Security?

Is there a link on the NOD/Eset site with info about the Smart Security not the actual RCs?

There's no details on pricing yet, but the general opinion is that current NOD32 subscribers will get it cheaper than non-subscribers.

There's no real details on the Eset site other than the beta page. The Eset forum at Wilders Security gives the most info.

can you right click any files/folders/zips and scan this?

last time i installed nod32 3, u couldnt do that

Yes, tho I've always been able to do that with NOD32.

Cheers will check those links out. It'd be brilliant if I could convert my NOD32 licence to a Smart Security licence. So it runs for the same length of time as I'm on now but has the firewall as well as the antivirus.

Pah! Who cares about everyone else. If someone can't read Lister or 2003 and make a link to either MarcLister or marc2003 posting earlier they deserve to die at the hands of a murderous keyboard tbh.

OcUK is *** l33t k.
