Hi I have a Essence STX hooked up to a pair of Sennheiser HD515s. my question is how do i go about getting the best in terms of sound quality, or do i just install the software and be done with it :0

Use a prog like foobar2000 to play your media, and install the WASAPI plugin to give it direct control of the SC. Don't use any DSPs (apart from the Advanced Limiter) and maybe replaygain. Done.

You'll get the best out of FLACs really. Foobar is a good suggestion. Other than that, I would recommend trying the Xonar Unified drivers. I found them better than the ASUS ones, especially in terms of options.
