Essential apps for MacBook Pro?

Hey guys

I'm just looking for a list of essential apps for my MacBook. I've had it a month, and although everything seems to be fine I'd rather be safe than sorry.

I mainly use it for internet stuff and Music Production/live DJing, so anything that would help with that as well would be appreciated.

1Password is the one I couldn't live without.

One thing I didn't see listed that I use is smcFanControl, not really a big app, but if you're ever doing anything intensive and want to keep temps low you can change fan speed with the app, and it displays the temps in a really tidy box on the top bar when it's running.
