I realise I hold a minority view of the PGR series, I always have done, but I just don't get it. It's undeniable, though, that you're recommending a couple of racing games to a 360 newbie that have been bettered on more than a couple of occasions since. Burnout Paradise is the essential arcade racer for me, although it has strong competition that I'm sure people will suggest, and Forza 3 covers the "simulation" side of things. Why would you bother with a pair of racers that are three and five years old?
I recall when I first got my 360, PGR3 didn't have much in the way of competition, and neither did PGR4 really when that came out, but now there are loads of racing games available and a lot of them are just plain better.
