Hi
I am trying out Win Server 2012 Essentials R2 and have a RDM 8TB mapping which I have taken from a current Win Server 2012 Essentials VM and would like to remap on this VM.
After removing it from the original VM I got the error about backing not supported for device 0 so removed the RDM vmdk files and recreated them.
I can now map the RDM to the new Windows Server 2012 Essentials R2 VM and I can see two partitions in disk manager both listed as healthy but I cannot assign drive letters to them and so cannot get access.
If I look in server manager under volumes then only the C: and associated volume is present but under disks both the C: (ESXi virtual disk) and the RDM (COMSTAR) disk is displayed.
If I look on the ESXi server I can see the LUN mapping and two partitions under it.
The RDM was created with...
How can I regain access to my RDM partitions ?. I am sort of suspecting it is a Windows server security feature that is locking them out at the moment but am happy to be corrected. I would rather not loose the information on that array.
Suggestions ?.
Thanks
RB
