I've got a pre-order in and they've taken my money so I think they have to honour the agreed price thank goodness... I could be wrong. Still I'd like to know when it's going to come into stock.
As an aside I'd love to know how the 5830 pre-orders are going... if at all...

probably working there assess of to get them in stockim waiting on a 5850 to but when the prices come down.
Oh undoubtedly - I was told some time this week about a week ago - maybe I'll give them a call this morning.
Just called them - they're expecting them in the next 7-10 days so effectively two weeks. Boo....

I think you're better off hoping that the £ gets stronger against the USD - that's what is ruining the prices.
No I agree - you're a fool if you buy a 5830. It's an utterly nonsensical card for the price. If it's not at £170 then it's pointless.
Agree with you there. Prices were supposed to get back to rrp when supply reached demand now you cant get a 5850 on here for less than £252. Surely someone must realise nobody is going to buy that 5830 unless its about £160 and pushing up prices of the 5850 aint gonna make it happen.
Well the reality is that the buck stops with ATI and their selling price. That hasn't changed or has gone up and with the UK£ low against the USD$ there isn't much that retailers here can do. It's not great for us consumers but OcUK and the other retailers are a business and they're out to make money rather than as a middle man for distributing hardware at no profit.
