Ethernet connection problems

Hello, I've recently changed my broadband provider, and have gone from using powerline adaptors to CAT 6 wired from my PC into my router, however my PC still thinks the ethernet connection is a TP-Link powerline connection, I was wondering how to change this? As I've also noticed that whenever I do any speedtests, it's not showing my actual IP address, instead I get a random IP from London, my guess is that this problems might be related to one another, I hope this makes sense to anybody reading.

Do you still have the powerline adapters connected to the network even if they aren't connected to the PC?

What do you mean by 'my PC still thinks the ethernet connection is a TP-Link powerline connection'. Powerline connections are transparent from the PC's point-of-view so it wouldn't have ever known it was connected via them.

I'd expect a reset of the network adaptor would sort your first issue.

The second issue is because the IP address from London is your external IP address, you'll be confusing this with your internal IP address.
