Just noticed that my ethernet port is flashing orange there is a Still green light and a flashing orange light.

was wondering what this means.

Gigabyte X79-UP4 Motherboard

Page 20 of the manual mentions one shows the connection speed, ie 100mb or 1gb and the other is for activity.

Yeah, it should tell you in the mobo manual which it is, it's just a change of colour to show whether it's running @ 100Mb/s or 1000b/s.

How are you testing WAN speed?

How many devices are on the network using the connection?

I highly doubt the LAN connection is your bottleneck.

It's either running at 10Mb/s or 100Mb/s.

Depending on the router if it is 1Gbps (1000Mb/s) it should have backwards compatibility with previous 10Mb/s and 100Mb/s.

Most likely it is a 1Gb/s (1000Mb/s) running at the fastest speed the connected device can run at which is 100Mb/s.

10Mb/s is highly unlikely. It just means it isn't being used to full speed because a device may not support the 1000Mb/s (1Gb/s).
